23.11.2009 - For the record books: Ludger Beerbaum wins his fourth Grand Prix in Stuttgart

Stuttgart – It has never happened before in the history of the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS. Riding in front of a 6,500 crowd in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle the German Ludger Beerbaum won the Grand Prix of Stuttgart – presented by Mercedes Benz and the BW-Bank for an unprecedented fourth time on the final day of the 25th horse show. His other wins in the event’s final class came in 1994, 2000 and 2002. The 20 ROLEX FEI World Cup JumpingTM points that went with the success also moved him up to fourth in the rankings after five events.  mehr

22.11.2009 - Austrian pair vault to their way to the Prize of the Masterhorse GmbH

Stuttgart – After two years “in exile” in the Porsche Arena, the vaulters were back centre stage in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle at the 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. The pairs competition for the Prize of the Masterhorse GmbH was a two round affair and the final score was arrived at by adding both marks together and then dividing by two.  mehr

22.11.2009 - Bechtolsheimer Dressage GERMAN MASTER in the Grand Prix Special for the Prize of the Meggle Group

Stuttgart – “Mistral Hojris was fantastic today,” said a delighted Laura Bechtolsheimer after her win in the Grand Prix Special for the Prize of the Meggle Group in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle. After being the 12th and last to go, the 24-year-old Englishwoman and the 14-year-old chestnut gelding’s “wonderful performance” (horse show director, Gotthilf Riexinger) earned them 76.542 per cent. Born in Germany, Laura Bechtholsheimer emigrated with her parents to Great Britain at the age of 1 and she has been a British citizen ever since.  mehr

22.11.2009 - Otto Lörke Prize for “Dablino” and Anabel Balkenhol

Stuttgart – In memory of the outstanding rider and trainer, Otto Lörke, the Deutsche Olympiade-Komitee für Reiterei (DOKR – the German Olympic Committee for Equestrianism) awards the Otto Lörke Prize annually to the rider, trainer and owner of the dressage horse, which may be no older than 10 years, that has impressed the dressage committee the most at the Grand Prix classes in Germany. The 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show will provide the backdrop for the 25th awarding of the honour.  mehr

21.11.2009 - Edward Gal and Totilas wins with ease - “The crowd spurred me on”

Stuttgart – Standing ovation in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle in Stuttgart. Seven thousand enthralled and enraptured spectators, gasps of amazement and cheering after the final salute – Edward Gal and his 9-year-old black stallion Totilas provided a highlight at the 25 International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show in Saturday evening’s prime time session. Competing in the Grand Prix freestyle, the double European champion from Windsor won the freestyle with such apparent ease that it almost seemed to be casual.  mehr

21.11.2009 - Australia’s World Cup winner Boyd Exell shines in SCHENKER GERMAN MASTER

Stuttgart – Year three after the serial winner Michael Freund and the third different winner. Two fantastic laps of the course in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle on Saturday afternoon gave Boyd Exell the win in the SCHENKER GERMAN MASTER. Last year’s World Cup winner clocked 213.88 and the success earned him 6,500 euro in prize money. Having already finished first in Hanover at the end of October, it meant that the 37-yer-old has now won both rounds of the FEI World Cup DrivingTM 2009/2010. “I’ve been second a couple of times here.  mehr

21.11.2009 - Laura Bechtolsheimer: win in the Grand Prix Prize of Stihl AG

Stuttgart – Successful start in the Special Tour at the 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle: Englishwoman Laura Bechtholsheimer, who was born in Mainz, Germany, comfortably won the Grand Prix for the Prize of the Stihl AG on the 14-year-old gelding Mistral Hojris.  mehr

20.11.2009 - Patrice Delaveau the second French MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER

Stuttgart – Friday night is MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER night. At stake when the top 12 saddle up in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle after two tough qualifying classes on Thursday and Friday is a Mercedes-Benz and the honour of being a “MASTER champion” in Stuttgart. The anniversary horse show in 2009 saw everything go right for the 44-year-old Frenchman Patrice Delaveau and his 11-year-old mare Katchina Mail.  mehr

20.11.2009 - Kristina Sprehe defeats the favourite: Win in Piaff-Förderpreis ahead of Marion Engelen

Stuttgart – “I’m speechless,” said Kristina Sprehe and took a deep breath. The 23-year-old from Oldenburg in north Germany had just won the Prize of Liselott Schindling Foundation at the 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. The win also gave her overall victory in the “Piaff Förderpreis” competition for Germany’s U25 riders.  mehr

20.11.2009 - Comfortable win for Edward Gal and Totilas in spite of “having the handbrake on”

Stuttgart – Suspense and expectation were almost tangible. Spectators and media representatives alike had looked forward excitedly to the first appearance of dressage’s new “dream couple” at the 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. And the double European Champion Edward Gal (NED) on his 9-year-old black stallion Moorlands Totilas did not disappoint. The duo comfortably won the Grand Prix for the Prize of the Ingenieurbüro Hauser, which was also the qualifying competition for the freestyle competition on Saturday evening, after scoring 79.021 per cent.  mehr

19.11.2009 - Exactly the same time: Mylene Diederichsmeier and Penelope Leprevost fastest in first qualifying

Stuttgart – Not an easy thing to do: there were two winners in the first qualifying class for Friday’s MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER on Thursday evening. Mylene Diederichsmeier (Germany) and Penelope Leprevost (FRA) both left their rivals trailing in their wake after finishing in exactly the same time (65.37 seconds). They are now well-placed to be in the starting line-up for the MASTER.  mehr

19.11.2009 - Timo Beck writes horse show history: BW-Bank Indoor Champion for a fourth time

Stuttgart – Horse show history was written by Timo Beck on Thursday evening. After, along with ten other duos, going clear in the first round of the highlight for Baden Württemberg’s riders in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle, the 32-year-old was the last to go in the jump-off and promptly raced around course without dislodging any timber in a time of 37.15 seconds. Riding the 15-year-old mare Isabell in front of a 6,200 crowd, Timo Beck became the first rider ever to win the BW-Bank Indoor Championship for a fourth time. His three previous successes came in 2000, 2002 and 2008.  mehr

19.11.2009 - Falk Stankus wins iWEST Dressage Cup

Stuttgart – The Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle appears to be made for him: Falk Stankus from nearby Dondorf won the final of the iWEST Dressage Cup in front of 2,700 spectators at the 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show late on Thursday afternoon. The class is the unofficial state indoor championship. “Things were much harder for me today,” commented the 25-year-old who, on Wednesday, won the Prize of the iWest GmbH Intermediaire I riding his own bred 9-year-old stallion Birkhof’s Haakon.  mehr

19.11.2009 - Rodrigo Pessoa and Markus Renzel win the opening jumping classes for the Bardusch-Preis

Stuttgart – The Brazilian Rodrigo Pessoa secured the victory in the opening jumping class for foreign riders at the 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show on Thursday. Riding the gelding Hermes St. Louis in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle, the 36-year-old Olympic champion (2004 in Athens) and former world champion (1998 in Rome) jumped clear in 55.68 seconds.  mehr

18.11.2009 - Hat-trick and the fourth win in Stuttgart: local hero Michael Jung comes out on top

Stuttgart – The local hero came out on top once again. Michael Jung, the 27-year-old horse stable manager from nearby Horb-Altheim, won the Indoor Derby eventing competition for the third time in succession on the opening day of the 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. Wednesday’s win was his fourth in all.  mehr

18.11.2009 - Alexander the Great: Schill wins the Mercedes-Benz Jump and Drive on Wednesday evening

Stuttgart – The sell-out 8,000 crowd in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle were out of their seats. Going second in the Mercedes-Benz Jump and Drive, the German Alexander Schill and his 10-year-old stallion Cartree set the time to beat by racing around the course first at the reins and then at the wheel of a Mercedes Benz in 90.15 seconds. No other rider came even close.  mehr

18.11.2009 - Great Honour: Thomas Baur new member of the FEI’s dressage committee

Stuttgart – The decision is of great significance for the International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show in particular and the German dressage scene in general. And it is a great honour too for Thomas Baur. The 42-year-old German has been elected to the dressage committee by the General Assembly of the International Federation of Equestrian Sports (FEI) in Copenhagen (Denmark). The marketing expert has been voted on the six man panel as the representative of the world’s horse show organisers.  mehr
