20.11.2011 - Number five for Ludger Beerbaum: the German wins the Grand Prix of Stuttgart on Gotha

Stuttgart – Ludger Beerbaum (Germany) triumphed in the Grand Prix of Stuttgart – presented by Mercedes-Benz, BW-Bank und WALTER solar for the fifth time after his previous wins in 1994, 2000, 2002 and 2009. The highlight of the 27th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle was the fifth station of the ROLEX FEI World Cup JumpingTM 2011/2012. Riding the ten-year-old Hanoverian mare Gotha FRH in front of a 6,200 crowd on Sunday afternoon, the four-time Olympic Champion was the quickest in the jump-off when going clear in 35.70 seconds. The reward for his efforts was a Mercedes-Benz M-Class worth 53,000 Euro as well as 20 points on the ROLEX FEI World Cup JumpingTM ranking where, now on 30 points, he has moved up to sixth. “The course benefitted my horse. It was difficult, but technically difficult. If somebody had told me yesterday that I’d be sitting here today then I would have told them they were the only ones to believe it.”  mehr

20.11.2011 - “The world class were world class” – a magnificent atmosphere and 60,700 spectators

Stuttgart – The 27th International STUTTART GERMAN MASTERS has once again set the benchmark with world class equestrian performances, fascinating shows, a magnificent atmosphere and perfect organisation. Andreas Kroll, CEO of the in.Stuttgart Veranstaltungsgesellschaft mbH, was delighted with the way everything has gone at the horse show: “It was simply fantastic with lots of highlights and great equestrian sport.” The world class really were world class.” The spectators cheered on the riders and their horses, the emotional highlight was on Saturday at the farewell ceremony for Isabell Werth’s Satchmo – with a standing ovation. A total of 60,700 people visited the horse show. Kroll: “We’ve therefore achieved our objectives and we’ve once again broken the 60,000 barrier.” Andreas Kroll is very positive about the future: “In 2012, we’ll be the only horse show worldwide with three World Cup competitions – in jumping, driving and in dressage.”  mehr

20.11.2011 - Isabell Werth and El Santo NRW repeat their win in the Grand Prix Special for the Prize of the MEGGLE Gruppe

Stuttgart – Riding the ten-year-old Rhinelander El Santo NRW, Isabell Werth (Germany) repeated her win last year in the final of the Grand Prix Special for the Prize of the MEGGLE Gruppe on Sunday morning. The five international judges from Belgium, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Poland and Germany awarded 77.867 per cent for the five-time Olympic Champion’s performance on her gelding in front of a crowd of 4,800 in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle.  mehr

20.11.2011 - Pairs vaulting at the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS: European Champions surprisingly beaten

Stuttgart – All the pairs in Sunday morning’s vaulting competition for the Prize of the Firma MASTERHORSE showed nerves in front of a large crowd in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle. In spite of some little difficulties every pair performed convincingly. The final result was however a surprise: the current European Champions Theresa-Sophie Bresch and Torben Jacobs (Germany) were unable to live up to their role as favourites in the second round.  mehr

19.11.2011 - Ulla Salzgeber takes the Grand Prix freestyle for the Prize of the NÜRNBERGER VERSICHERUNGSGRUPPE

Stuttgart – For the second time after 2003 when she triumphed on Wall Street, Ulla Salzgeber (Germany) won the FEI Grand Prix freestyle for the Prize of NÜRNBERGER VERSICHERUNGSGRUPPE at the 27th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show on Saturday afternoon. “I’m so happy and I really enjoyed riding today,” said a delighted two-time Olympic Champion, “it was a faultless performance”.  mehr

19.11.2011 - Koos de Ronde DB SCHENKER GERMAN MASTER for first time

Stuttgart – A new name on a roll of honour that includes all the top names: World Team Champion Koos de Ronde won the DB SCHENKER GERMAN MASTER with a combined time of 255.14 seconds in front of a sell-out 8,000 crowd in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchman received 5,500 Euro prize money for his win in the competition which belongs to the FEI World Cup 2011/2012 DrivingTM series.  mehr

19.11.2011 - Verdi quickest in the jump-off: Pius Schwizer is the new MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER

Stuttgart – The 6,400 crowd were ecstatic: the Pius Schwizer became the first ever Swiss to secure the win in the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER late on Friday evening. In the six rider jump-off, he again left all the fences standing in a time of 35.82 seconds which was almost a second quicker than Irishman Billy Twomey (0/36.71). Third-placed Marco Kutscher (Germany) also completed the jump-off course without incurring any penalties (0/37.65).  mehr

18.11.2011 - Simon Delestre winner of the second qualifying class for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER

Stuttgart – Early Friday evening, Frenchman Simon Delestre won the Prize of the DIW Instandhaltung Ltd. & Co. KG, the second qualifying class for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER to be held later. In front of 6,400 spectators in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle – the day session attracted 3,100 equestrian fans for the two dressage competitions and a jumping class – Delestre went clear on Napoli du Ry in 62.27 seconds.  mehr

18.11.2011 - Comfortable win for Kristina Sprehe in Piaff-Förderpreis

Stuttgart – The penultimate ride in the ring prevented a one-two and therefore a repeat of last year’s result. Kristina Sprehe comfortably won the final of the Piaff-Förderpreis for German U-25 riders on Friday afternoon. She presented her 10-year-old Hanoverian stallion Desperados and was awarded 1,734 points (73.787 per cent). “Today the passages and piaffes were far better,” said the 25-year-old economics student.  mehr

18.11.2011 - Lauren Hough suffers a broken rib and a separated shoulder when falling on Thursday evening

Stuttgart – Fifteenth into the ring in the first qualifying class for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER on Thursday evening, the American Lauren Hough was injured after falling and being kicked by her nine-year-old mare Blue Angel.  mehr

18.11.2011 - Ulla Salzgeber turns the tables: win in the Grand Prix ahead of title-holder Isabell Werth

Stuttgart – Ulla Salzgeber (Germany), who won Olympic team gold in 2000 and 2004, triumphed in the Prize of the Firma IMD at the 27th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show on Friday morning. On top of Herzruf’s Erbe, a 12-year-old chestnut gelding bred in Rhineland, the two-time World and six-time European Champion was awarded 1,832.5 points (77.979 per cent) to secure the 2,500 Euro prize for coming first. Stuttgart – Last to go, the Bulgarian Rossen Raitchev from the Sportpferdezentrum Aach stables scorched around the course on Capoccino to win the BW Bank Indoor Championship on Thursday evening. Clear in 38.29 seconds, he was more than one and a half seconds quicker than the leader at the time Christian Heim (Germany) on Vallerey (39.95).  mehr

17.11.2011 - Nicole Casper wins the final of the iWEST Dressage Cup – “But I was pretty nervous!”

Stuttgart – Second competition, second win. After her success in the opening class at the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS on Wednesday, the 42-year-old Nicole Casper also triumphed in the final of the iWest Dressage Cup – the unofficial state indoor championships – in front of 2,400 spectators in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle on Thursday.  mehr

17.11.2011 - Edwina Tops-Alexander, the world’s top woman rider, on Stuttgart: “It’s the world’s best indoor horse show!”

Stuttgart – Edwina Tops-Alexander heaped great praise on the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS: “It’s the world’s best indoor horse show, a fantastic atmosphere and a great crowd!” The 37-year-old Australian is competing in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle “for the fifth or sixth time in a row” and confirmed that the “organisation is wonderful and there’s an excellent ground.” Smiling she continued, “and it’s nice and warm inside.”  mehr

17.11.2011 - Opening jumping class for the Bardusch Prize: wins for World Champion Philippe Le Jeune and Olympic Champion Lars Nieberg

Stuttgart – World Champion Philippe Le Jeune is obviously up for the 27th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. Riding Querlybet Hero STX, an 11-year-old stallion, whose father Vater Baloubet de Rouet was a three-time World Cup winner under Rodrigo Pessoa, the Belgian secured the Prize of the Bardusch GmbH Textil-Mietdienste. A clear round in 55.17 seconds gave him the victory in the opening jumping class for foreign riders.  mehr

17.11.2011 - Re-elected: FEI dressage committee member Thomas Baur to continue

Stuttgart – Two years ago at the General Assembly of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) in Copenhagen (Denmark), Thomas Baur, the Assistant Horse Show Director at the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS, was voted onto the six-seat Dressage Committee as the representative of the world’s horse show organisers. The General Assembly convened last week in Rio de Janeiro and re-elected the 44-year-old German for a further four years in his honorary position on the committee.  mehr

17.11.2011 - One hundredth quicker: Olympic Champion Frank Ostholt ahead of Jan Büsch and World Champion Michael Jung

Stuttgart – 2002 was the year of the first winner of the Indoor Derby in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle and late on Wednesday evening the same person won the eventing class for the Prize of the Firma Peter Hahn for the second time: Frank Ostholt. Riding Air Jordan, a 16 year-old-gelding, the 2008 Olympic Team Champion, 2006 Team World Champion and 2011 European individual bronze medal winner raced around the difficult course in 77.77 seconds. In going clear, the 36-year-old director of the German equestrian centre in Warendorf pipped his countryman Jan Büsch, who had also gone clear on his 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding Napoli but in a time of 77.78 seconds.  mehr
